What Man Utd players and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will think of Paul Pogba transfer saga

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER and his Manchester United players will be wanting Paul Pogba to leave the club, claims former England left-back Michael Gray.

Pogba claimed earlier this summer he was keen on taking on a new challenge away from Manchester United.

That has been reiterated by his agent Mino Raiola in recent days, who says he is trying to facilitate his client’s exit from Old Trafford.

Pogba has often been criticised for his on-field performances but Gray says the Frenchman has not actually done anything wrong on the pitch.

But it is the off-field behaviour, including declaring his desire to leave, that Gray thinks is the biggest problem.

“We’ve seen interviews throughout the summer where he’s said he fancies a new challenge.

“I think he wants to play Champions League football.

“These words that are coming out of Raiola’s mouth, let’s not forget he represents Paul Pogba so whatever Paul Pogba is saying to his agent, the agent can then come out and speak to the public and basically tell us the situation of what is going on.

“I think if you look at him on the field, yes you can judge his performances, but has he done anything wrong on the field?

“No he really hasn’t, let’s be brutally honest about it.

“I think if you’ve got a player like that, and this is speaking from an ex-player, if I had a player like that in my dressing room I knew who didn’t want to be at that club, I wouldn’t want him in that dressing room. I think a manager wouldn’t want him in that dressing room either.

“It only takes one to upset everybody else in that dressing room, turning round to your players, which you do, and saying: ‘I don’t want to be here, I’ve got a chance of going to Juventus, or I’ve got a chance of going to Real Madrid’.

“If I’m Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and this is probably the biggest call he would have had to make as a manger so far in his short period at Manchester United, I think he’s got to stand to right and say: ‘look, this is Manchester United, there’s no player bigger than this club. If he doesn’t want to be here, we’ve got to try and get him out of the door but make sure it’s the right deal for Manchester United’.”
